J. Lohr owns 3,000 acres of California Vineyards, including 2000 acres in the Paso Robles region where they have now added a state-of-the-art, 756 kilowatt single-axis tracking solar photovoltaic system. The vineyard installed 4,320 modules on ground-mounted arrays that track the sun from east to west, significantly increasing energy output.

This is the largest solar energy installation of its kind in the North American wine industry. It will offset most of the winery’s annual energy use by reducing CO2 emissions equivalent to planting 0.861 acres of trees or not driving 2,502 miles
