Conergy installed two solar power plants on V. Sue Cleveland and Rio Rancho High Schools in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, totaling 2.4 megawatts.
Conergy, the photovoltaic system and service provider, acted as general contractor for this project and was responsible for project planning, engineering and construction.
The systems produce around 4.3 million kilowatt hours of clean solar power every year. That is the same amount of energy as approximately 43,000 laptops running eight hours a day for one year. The installations are expected to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions equal to recycling approximately 1,140 tons of waste instead of sending it to a landfill or taking 632 passenger cars off the road for one year.
